Entryways

Now the walls are painted I have to finish off my entryway. It's actually quite a large space but has one wall completely open, and three doors. Because it's such as obvious space when you walk in (more so then a simple hallway) I want it to look amazing so I've been looking for inspiration...

Because I have a large floor space I'm also liking the idea of using a central table, rather than a side table...

Branches Inside

In the display home I've been working on I had a little side table between two armchairs with a difficult window above. Originally I popped a small white vase on the table and was planning on putting a small framed painting above the table. But...it never really worked. So it was left looking a little lonely until I stopped by the local stores to find the last of the accessories and saw all the beautiful faux flowers in Vast Interiors (http://www.vastinterior.com.au/). Now, normally I would prefer to use fresh flowers but that's obviously not practical in a display home, and even fake flowers add a touch of greenery and nature to the home.

And then, I thought of all the branches I'd seen through interiors recently...

Kitchen (In)Decisions

We have a very large kitchen, and I mean very large (in italics!). We also have a very small living area, which is mostly kitchen. It is a large u-shape and the large space in the centre accommodates our dining area. And...our very large kitchen is mustard yellow. Now, I love mustard yellow (I have a sofa in this exact shade) but I don't like it plastered all over a very large kitchen! Of course, we don't have the cash to remove the kitchen and start from scratch so I turned to paint, a designer's best friend.

But, then the indecision began. Originally I was planning on painting the walls white. So then, should I paint the kitchen white (classic), a coloured neutral (grey, griege?) or a fun colour which would suit its retro orientation?

White on white kitchens are pretty (and the thought of putting a beautiful pattern on the backsplash got me very excited!)...
