Now that my tiling of downstairs is almost finished (see here) I thought I should probably come up with a bit of a plan for the area. The only part of the room I have decided is it will have a large orange rug which I bought in Morocco last year. Orange is not a typical colour I would choose for my home so it's taking me a while to find the perfect style.
My only criteria apart from orange was that I wanted to incorporate a 'tapa' painting my parents bought me in Fiji (a mulberry paper painting with a brown and black pattern) and that I didn't want it to end up looking tribal-themed. I wanted a room that incorporated these things from my travels that was still in keeping with my style.
My inspiration rooms feature a touch of orange without it being the sole colour of the room (for more of my favourite orange rooms check out my pinterest here).
And so far my moodboard looks like this...
Sorry this moodboard was only a quick job so it's not looking it's best! I am considering moving my entry table downstairs and finding something else for the entry. This coffee table is from upstairs as well. I already have two vintage wing chairs which I'll cover with charcoal fabric. That's the tapa painting in the top right (I think I'll frame it in black or white so it's like modern art). So all that's left is a new sofa, curtains, cushions, artwork, a few accessories and the list goes on!
I'll get there one day and share pictures as I go - promise!
