Small steps - Downstairs living room progress

By now, everyone has probably forgotten the fact I was tiling and renovating downstairs. It has been a while without photos hasn't it?! A while ago, I posted about the bedroom I had quickly fixed up and you can see some before photos. I also spoke here about my ideas for rugs.

Well, after painting I finally got stuck in and started moving furniture in. It's still a bit of disaster zone and the list of projects is long, but let's see what we have to start with...

My poor sofa got water damaged during the cyclone, see the water line along the back? It's due to be re-upholstered in a lovely rich greige. Don't mind the patchy doors - they have already had another coat!

This is the fabric I've chosen to layer under my Moroccan rug. Still need to hem the edges! I'm trying to decide whether to add another suitcase, and spray paint them some fun colour, or get a white coffee table.
The old wardrobe houses the TV.
The dining chairs were just there for a party...I'm thinking a wing chair in that corner, with a small side table.
Excuse the terrible photos, still haven't got my camera working!

So, let's have a look at the 'To-Do' list...

- Tile entire room
Two coats of Taubmans Snowy White to ceiling and walls
- Move furniture out of storage in garage
- Find new fabric for armchairs that incorporates orange and another colour
- Find fabric to layer under rug and hem
- Find fabric for curtains and hem (haven't chosen the length yet!)
- Add trim to curtains
- Make roman style blinds for louvred windows
- Re-upholster sofa in dark greige (finally chose a colour!)
- Find feature armchair for corner (where dining chairs are currently sitting)
- Find orange and lilac cushions for sofa
- Create dramatic abstract art for behind sofa
- Finish skirted console behind armchairs
- Decide what to do about the coffee table - suitcases or table?
- Paint armoire - colours; white, grey?
- Decide whether to add trim to drum pendants on ceiling

So, I'm only a little way through but at least it's liveable!

Any suggestions for my armoire colour? I was thinking charcoal grey, with white moulding. I need a little drama in this room!
