Last week, when I posted some colourful kid's rooms,
the lovely KP commented that it made her paint colour choices for her children's rooms seem boring. But, as much as I love colourful spaces, neutral walls are far more practical for kids' rooms so you can change the entire look with some accessories as they grow.I promised I'd find some inspiring neutral kid's spaces so here they are...I love the animal art in this pretty nursery, and it's an easy look to achieve. They cut these photos out of a book and framed them. Why not try their favourite Dr Suess book? This isn't a space that is easy to DIY but it has some fantastic ideas for small spaces. What built-in storage lacks in flexibility it makes up for in practicality! This is tiny space but they have managed to include plenty of storage (shelves on the left and above the bed), two beds, a desk and a seating area.
This is another small room but is a lovely space for a toddler. The red dresser really makes this room; it gives it character and a bold shot of colour. See that? You can mix orange, pink and red! I love this space. It feels lived in and imaginative. White walls and floors are neutral, while the wallpaper adds some pattern (you could always try a less permanent option here like fabric wrapped around a canvas). And isn't that fort a great way to add some extra to a bunk bed?
I think this space would be perfect for tweens and I love the bold jolts of yellow in the space, and the little touch of natural elements in the woven baskets and rope curtain pulls. This room just proves that white spaces can still be colourful. A very eclectic and bohemian room with some beautiful features. Love those colourful banners and the cute parasol! |

This is a simple room for a boy's space. Blue and red are always a great colour scheme for boys and an oversized map is a great affordable art option. So, which option do you prefer? Bright walls, or white walls?
