A bright and colourful boy's bedroom - Finished!

So, I mentioned here I was helping do up my little brother's bedrooms. We've now managed to finish off Zaccy's bedroom. Zaccy is five and we wanted to create something colourful with lots of fun areas to play with a bit of a Dr Suess influence in there as well.

If you remember, this is what the room looked liked before (please excuse the unmade bed - it is a boy's bedroom)...

And the after...

My father and I came up with the design and made the bed over a few weekends.
The bed has a cubby underneath it which is accessed through a secret door.
The panel next to the blackboard has a small lever near the mattress which you pull
to make the door open.

We painted the cubbies in different colours and I filled it with his books and toys.
In the red cubby there is a small peephole drilled through so he can 'spy'
on people coming into his bedroom.

Zaccy helped me make the circle art on the wall. We painted timber craft coasters
and table mats and then decoupaged pictures of the Dr Suess 'Cat in the Hat' book.

So, just to remind you...

What had to stay...The flooring (obviously), the wall colour and the timber blinds.
What could go... All the furniture.
The budget breakdown...
